Keep answers up to date

The assistant answers from the copy of your pages taken at the last crawl. When you change your site, re-crawl so the assistant sees the new version.

Re-crawl your sitemap

Open your site and click Re-crawl sitemap. We read your sitemap again and queue every page for indexing:

New pages in the sitemap are added.
Every page is indexed again, so changes are picked up.
Pages no longer in the sitemap are removed, so the assistant stops citing them.

You can re-crawl a site once every 10 minutes. Sites aren't re-crawled on a schedule, so re-crawl after any update you want the assistant to know about.

Fix a content gap

Open Analytics and look at Content gaps for questions your pages couldn't answer.
Add the answer to a page on your site, or write a new page. Make sure it's in your sitemap.
Click Re-crawl sitemap.
Once indexing finishes, ask the question again in the preview bubble on your site page. Preview questions count toward your monthly total.

Edit a site

Click Edit site to change the sitemap URL, widget domain, name or widget appearance.

Changing the sitemap or domain re-crawls the site, unless it was crawled in the last 10 minutes.
Changing the appearance updates the snippet. Copy it again and replace the old one on your site.

Delete a site

The Delete site card at the bottom of the site page removes all indexed pages, search data and question history for that site. The widget stops working immediately. Type the site's name to confirm.

Deleting a site frees a site slot on your plan but doesn't reset your questions for the month.
